Steve Bennett asked me to be the wardrobe stylist for a Barbie shoot and I got Juelles Chester on board and he already had Patricia McQueen as the make-up artist. Queen and I both did the hair. This was so much fun even though I was 9 months pregnant.

White After Labor Day

Something that has bothered my for many years is this no white after labor day rule!!  First and foremost the white in the summer started in the early 20th century because white was a cooler color to wear in the heat and was  a lighter material.  But I say this... that just means that everyone is running around with stained up armpits of their clothing.  White in the summer does look great with a tan, but it also is stained very easy and sweat stains are gross and hard to get out.

The white rule was never really a rule just a bunch of followers being drones to what they read or gossip about.  White is a great color to wear anytime and only since 2004 these so called fashion rules have started to be broken.

Anyhoo, I love white in the winter, its very crisp like the snow :)

Pink Rocks The Runway, October 21, 2011

To say the least I (Ginger Carlin) was lucky to be a part of this incredible event.  Pink Rocks the Runway is a breast cancer benefit to raise awareness and support for breast cancer.  14 models all breast cancer survivors each were paired with a designer to design a dress for them to walk down the runway.

I was matched perfectly with Jennifer Kwiatek her story is courageous and touches the heart. Honored to have been one of the designers and to be paired with Jen here is the dress I designed A.K.A. Booshie Design for her.

Headlining the event hosted Christian Siriano (winner from project runway) featuring his collection.

All 14 survivors and designers were:
Charnise Carter/ Designer Dennya
Hosai/Designer Aidah
Jen Kwiatek/ Designer Booshie Design
Tara Pannell/ Designer MAVEN, LLC
Elizabeth Stower/ Designer Chez Kevito
Jennifer Harlow/Designer Tsyndyma
Lawanda Fountain/ Designer Estella Couture
Jane Roser/ Designer Elizabeth St. John
Jean Lee/ Designer Natalia Sanz
Jami Guerrina/ Designer Walish Gooshe
Heather Chittum Roth/ Designer Tashia Senn
Stef Woods/ Designer STUDIO D'MAXSI
Kim Taylor/ Designer Punk Rock Bride

It was truly a great night and so wonderful to meet all of these women and humbled to be a part of it.
